Renewal of Simple Profession 2026

On June 13, 2026, the Dominican Studentate gathered in prayer as twelve of our student brothers renewed their Simple Profession for another year during Evening Prayer. The celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Filemon I. dela Cruz Jr., OP, Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of the Philippines.

Following the rite of renewal, Fr. Filemon, in his homily, described this moment as a “grace period”—not in its usual sense, but as an avenue for discernment. It is an opportunity for both the individual friar and the community, the Order itself, to listen anew to God’s call and respond with faithfulness and perseverance.
